BBC NEWS 2005..City cannabis cafe owner jailed.. Gary Youds ran the Chillin Rooms cafe in Kensington. The owner of a cannabis cafe in Liverpool had been jailed for 12 months for "blatantly" flouting the law. Gary Youds, 36, was given a conditional discharge last year (march) after a raid on the Amsterdam-style cafe the Chillin Rooms in Holt Road, Kensington. But between March and November 2005 police found up to 57 people using the drug on the premises. Youds, of Cavan Road, Norris Green, admitted drugs charges at Liverpool Crown Court. Youds pleaded guilty to permitting the premises to be used for smoking cannabis, two offences of cultivating cannabis and possessing it with intent. Judge Brian Lewis said he had committed blatant breaches of the law. Mr Youds said Alls he wanted to accomplish was to set up a safe environment (free internet cafe with strictly NO alcohol and Membership only) where people over the age of 18 could go to ,to relax and socialise.
Mr Youds has now finished his jail sentence.. finished his tag.. Been sent back for jail and released a week later for breeching his tag (NO BREECH WAS MADE ?)and is now undergoing a confiscation order... what ever you do.. do not try to improve society or create a safe place for young or old people to go!
